I am a Black queer Womanist committed to liberation for all people and Mother Earth. Much of this work moves through writing, photography and visual art, archival practice, and teaching, shaped by my travels, cross-cultural encounters, spirituality, and Southern sensibilities.
My research and teaching engage African American and African Diasporic literature and art, Womanist Thought, Cultural Studies, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I care about creating discussion-oriented spaces for learning and unlearning that expand people’s understanding of their relationship and responsibility to the world around them.
My work has appeared in Callaloo, Black Perspectives, World Wildlife Magazine, The Conversation, Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, and Women in Higher Education, among other publications.
